Julia Borderie (born in 1989 in Paris) lives and works in Paris. She graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts Paris-Cergy in France with honorable mentions. After she participated in a an exchange program in Concordia University, before finally transferring to Université du Québec in Montréal where she wrote a thesis about her work and was awarded her master’s diploma in visual arts. Traveling and immersive collaboration are the driving parameters of her work. Exploring the idea of an overlap as a creative zone, she is interested about how interactions can shape our previously held Assumptions.


Her work has been exhibited in Europe, Canada and North Africa, such as Darling Foundry (2015, Montreal), Parisian Laundry (2014, Montreal), Château de la Roche Guyon (2014, Val d’Oise), Abbaye de Maubuisson (2011, Val d’Oise), Nuits blanches (2012, Ivry-Sur-Seine), Casablanca Video Art Festival (2014, Morocco), Fernand Léger Gallery (2018, Ivry-sur-Seine), Jean-Collet Gallery (2018, Vitry-sur-Seine). She contributes to the research group “L’invention des formes de représentation à l’ère de la mondialisation, artistes et chercheurs en dialogue” (EHESS-CNRS) and joins the Laboratoire des Arts de la Performance in 2018. In 2019, she develop her work in Mains d’œuvres residency to develop in duo with Eloïse Le Gallo. Together, they publish on radio r22 (Khiasma art centre, Les Lilas). Their work has been shown in part at the Villa Belleville (2017, Paris), Lerka (Saint Denis, La Réunion, 2017), Arondit (Paris, France), Galerie/ Espace d’art contemporain du théâtre de Privas, (2018, France).
