« Points-Bascule” is a dyptic video in which themes of water are balanced between two screens reflecting the Reunionese landscape that water shapes.
This diptych examines water as a substance that influences the territories it bathes, their landscapes and the people who live there.« Points-Bascule” uses documentary, poetic and non-premeditated approaches. It focuses on the fresh water system of the island : hydrogeology, the « basculement des eaux » project , the importance of rainfall, cyclones and their influence on the landscape and the inhabitants’s way of life. The film is a hypnotic visual « dérive » that explores fluidity, taking the waterscapes as both set and actor to invoke the voices of those who know them intimately.
